How to make a website with MS Excel? Part 1
To my mind it is a funny whim but if you really insist to try it who am I to disoblige you.
Since Word and Excel are both products of Microsoft there are no such a big variations in the main operations that we discuss already in “How to make a website with MS Word?”. Of course Excel has some characteristics that evolve in the main of the fact that it is a spreadsheet but not word processor i.e. has some distinctions like the formulas for example. If you think that you could easily create a calculating form where your visitors could be able to reckon some things, do not hurry to celebrate it is not just to convert excel to html. The function interactivity is too far away from the picture that your imagination is drawing.
When you save your spreadsheet, Excel asks you whether you would like to put interactivity. In spite of the thrill with which many web designers have been checked the box in front of Add interactivity, raising the hopes of the thought that they will save themselves hours of script writing the result is too far away of the expected. Actually, the created by you "
xls to html" web page calculates the formulas or with simple words if in cell A1 and B1 the visitor input some values so in cell C1 will appear their total or the result of the operation that you put for calculation. By the way the hyperlinks are live (or at least were when I wrote this one) and you could download the thing in question and to try it when you transform your excel to html. No matter what is its conception you can be sure that it is not connected with your first website and will not get the business over.
And before I convince you to refuse to have anything to do with excel I can at least say that Excel have some advantages too.
